Visits
Visiting our youngest and her husband this weekend. Going to a craft/period fare called the Dickens Fair (my daughter and I) and looking forward to it.
She purchased a little outfit for Winston, and even though he wears it we aren't sure he likes it. He walks and shakes his hind legs as if he is trying to shake it off. Very funny.
We are sharing our time with a "Flat First Grader" our granddaughter sent us, for a school project. We have taken her many places and have many pictures. Here a a few.
Going out to breakfast, after going to yardsales.
Next to grandpa's 1955 Studebaker.
After helping decorate the Christmas tree.
Ready to go.
A rainy day in Yosemite.
She has had other adventures, with pictures!

Remember
we need to remember~~( In the words of Michael W. Smith)~~
Above all powers
Above all kings
Above all nature
And all created things
Above all wisdom
And all the ways of man
You were here
Before the world began
Verse 1
Above all powers
Above all kings
Above all nature
And all created things
Above all wisdom
And all the ways of man
You were here
Before the world began
Verse 2
Above all kingdoms
Above all thrones
Above all wonders
The world has ever known
Above all wealth
And treasures of the earth
There's no way to measure
What You're worth
CHORUS
Crucified
Laid behind a stone
You lived to die
Rejected and alone
Like a rose
Trampled on the ground
You took the fall
And thought of me
Above all

October
While visiting my sister-in-law,in October, we got to watch the porpoises, wave kite surfers and sunsets from her porch.
We explored a couple pumkin patches, after all Half Moon Bay is know for it's pumkins and pumpkin festival.
Had fun visiting a lighthouse that is now a Hostel. We had lunch with my cousin and her 7 month old baby Sophia, and that was a good time.
When I returned Friday evening, I saw that the new floor was more then half way completed. On Sat. Dan helped some people we know move and was gone most of the day. J. who helped with the flooring came back Sat. morning to finish the flooring and brought along a helper. We had prepaid him over the summer (when he was wasn't working) for his time.
Squirt enjoyed the floor. You can hear the cats claws as they walk across the floor.
Dan finished the baseboards, etc. before we moved the furniture back in. We are thrilled, as you can see from one of the photos, the old flooring was pretty ugly and scared up from the previous owners.
I had some yams growing, so I decorated them with glow in the dark paints and put them outside with the pumpkins for Halloween. I decorated the pumpkins for fall instead of carving. D. is not so into carving since all the kiddos are moved out and on their own, and don't live close by. However, I do have a ceramic pumpkin with face that I put a candle in for the trick-or-treaters.
What I didn't post were the family pictures from our family picnic earlier in the month. Such a fun time to catch up!!!

New floor
I am going to visit my sister-in-law in Half Moon Bay. I look forward to waking and seeing the ocean, and some visiting of course. She had been undergoing treatment for stage 4 breast cancer and her spirits have been good. I am praying for good news when we talk and that the treatments have been working. I leave around 6 in the morning and will be gone until Friday.
While I am gone my husband and a friend from church are going to lay new flooring in the kitchen and dining area. I pray it all goes well, and am anxious to see it when I return. We will have to look for some kind of area rug to put under the dining table and chairs. It is a massive black walnut table over 60 years old. So the hunt will begin. Tonight the room is bare, however my familyroom doesn't have much room in it and I have a freezer in my livingroom. Tomorrow he will move the refrigerator and so before I head to bed I need to clear somethings off the top.

Retreat: Hume Lake
The women at our church go to a christian women's retreat every year. It has always looked like a lot of fun and I have wanted to go. However, it has always fallen on the same weekend as our big family reunion, so you know where I went. This year the retreat was the weekend before the reunion so in spite of the hustle and bustle of the wedding and planning I was able sign up. Needless to say it was an amazing time!!
The view from the dining hall.
The camp is home to over 20,000 young campers and teens during the summer. I loved the way the chapel was set up for the kids.
The first morning we took a shuttle to a place called "Inspiration Point" for breakfast. What a fantastic view. God is a marvelous planner!
The worship band "Deanna Ramsey Band" was amazing. She has a 4 octave voice. The guest speaker was Debbie Alsdorf, and she had a incredible story as well.
It was a wonderful time with other christian women, going to different seminars and doing different activities. (and not cooking) It is so nice to come home feeling refreshed and renewed.

The Wedding!!!!!!!!!!!! Sept. 8, 2012
After a year of dating he proposed. When he told us he wanted to marry her, we were not surprised. We would have been surprised if he had not proposed. For her family it was a little different proposal, he called her mother and told her he wanted to marry Liz and then asked her permission. That was a year ago. Their relationship has been a long distance one, her living here and him being 4 hours away. At least we got to see him more often when he came to see her.
(A couple of the pics are out of order)
The Kiss!!!
The wedding was held outside and the reception inside. The high that day got to 96, and standing in the sun is not comfortable. It ended up (after the ceremony) being a nice day. We are so thankful that we did not have the same heat we had in Aug. Over a week of 107-112 weather, over 3 weeks of over 100 degrees ~which is very uncomfortable. We did manage to get some shade for the guests.
Liz did a beautiful job with the table decorations, with some help from all of us we got everything set up in time for the wedding. Our youth group usually meets on Thursday evenings, but took the summer off and start up again on Thursday. So we were able to get the tables set up that evening and set on Friday.
The cake was stunning.
I made the flower girl's dresses and a friend of hers made the sashes. The little one is Vivi, Liz's little sister (3 1/2 yrs.) and the tall one is our granddaughter the grooms niece, Caitlin (6 1/2 yrs.) they both did a great job. Brandon was the ring bearer (9 yrs) Caitlin's brother and our grandson. Keith's brother was the best man and his sister was a bridesmaid. Liz's sister~~her twin~~ was not in the wedding (she was there) because she has a new baby.
Our pastor did the ceremony with his wonderful wife doing the translation from English to Spanish.
The Happy Couple!!!
