Rest Day.

I have been feeling a little out of it the last few days. I think I caught one of the colds the little ones bring to school. Parents will tell me their child is sick but they didn't want to miss class, so here they are. None the less, I will still tell the parent their child is better off at home resting ~ SO, not only will they get better, but they won't expose their illness to the other children in class. I believe that many, but not all, parents think that colds are harmless in group settings. I am really glad not all parents think that and will keep their child home until they are better and I am not sending them home. Actually, I really don't know what the parent is thinking.
We had today off for Lincolns birthday, so I got to rest some more. The guys were gone all day so I had the house to myself. I did some mundane chores and some errands, plus lessons and rested.

I purchase crickets for the gecko about once a month. No matter how careful I am one cricket always seems to escape. Usually we know this either by the crickets singing or the cats looking around in unusual spaces in the front room near the cage. They will actually eat a cricket if it is caught. I walked in the room and saw them around the cage as the crickets were singing. After I took the picture I shooed them away and rearranged the heat lamp on top so the cats can't get on top. I don't want to replace the screen.

Must be cold?

It's been cold lately. Not freezing like the Rockies, or the Sierra's, but still chilly. We had quite a stormy day yesterday, and it was cold. Of course then it is time to make sure the heater is on. Now, we do need to have some work done on a valve that doesn't always open in a timely manner and the heater doesn't always come on when we want it to, but it does come on eventually ~ usually within an hour. Chloe doesn't always want to wait for the heater to come on and after my morning coffee this is what we found in our bed.
The heater has been on and it is nice inside now, and it looks like Chloe has settled in for a good snooze.
Silly cat! ♥

Oh, oh!

Look who has been coming in and spending a few hours at a time in the house; none other then KittyBoy! It is only when it is really cold and/or windy outside. Of course, he must be supervised and the bedroom doors closed. He usually stays in the cat bed, or will sit on my lap. He hasn't been shown the litter box, and we won't leave him in if we are gone.
What you don"t see is all the other cats sitting around looking at him, and sniffing his butt when they get the chance. There is a little hissing going on, but not to bad, Kittyboy will never be a house cat like the others, but once in a while we will let him and do want them to get along.

Jade and Jonah are now 8 years old. Chloe will be 8 in July. Squirt will be 6 in July and we found Kittyboy in July of 2003 so he will be 5 in late May or early June.

I had a CPR class last night, I didn't want to go! But I did and now it is over and I am recertified. Which is good since my card expired yesterday and it needs to be current for the review. Today I will do some housework and school work. A year and half till I retire and I am just now beginning to look forward to it.
Have a great day!

?????????

Guess who likes garbanzo beans? Elizabeth wanted to find out if Chloe liked the beans and she does. However, we don't feed them to her as a regular food. One thing that cat doesn't need is anymore food. I bet she must weight 17 or more pounds. That cat really needs to diet.

Strange noises?

I am sitting at the computer, finalizing my lessons for next week and I keep hearing strange noises. Now I don't have any little kids running around and most of the time it is just Dan and I here - so what is under my tree? I actually took the pictures without seeing my subject but I wasn't the least bit surprised. I just didn't know what cat it was. Chloe was attacking the tree and eating/chewing on one of the branches in the back of the tree.

I think this is the new kitty hang out.

Chloe

I heard a strange rustling and this is what I found amidst the Christmas garland. Chloe had found her calling, but it last about 2 minutes.

Making the bed

So, I was making the bed and when I started to put the blanket on I noticed that Jonah had simply settled in.

So much for my day

We took the cats out to play today. Jonah looks ready to pounce when he was actually just getting ready to run away, Chloe is in her element, Jade is just snooping (notice the tongue out), and then the boys are confering before they take off in opposite directions.
